What This Strategy Does

Position the fund as a satellite allocation for investors seeking international equity exposure alongside their existing domestic investments. Its developed-market core provides broad exposure to global businesses, while thematic and emerging-market allocations introduce additional growth potential and concentration risk. Suitability should be assessed against the investor's existing overseas exposure, risk tolerance, investment horizon and ability to withstand equity-market and currency fluctuations. The close-ended structure also requires consideration of liquidity needs.
Role in a Diversified Portfolio

Role in a Diversified Portfolio

The fund can serve as an international equity diversification allocation within an India-centric portfolio, reducing dependence on domestic market performance and providing access to global companies and investment themes. Underlying assets: Primarily global equity ETFs and offshore funds, with 90–100% of NAV allocated to these instruments under the stated framework. Up to 10% may be held in short-term deposits, liquid ETFs or liquid/overnight funds. Portfolio construction: The proposed structure allocates approximately 50–70% to core developed-market exposure and 30–50% to tactical opportunities, including selected themes and emerging markets. Market exposure: The indicative portfolio includes the S&P 500, artificial intelligence and technology, semiconductors and China-focused ETFs.

Given the product’s limited performance history, the assessment considers the fund house’s track record and the historical performance of comparable strategies managed by the same fund house, which follow similar investment approaches. Detailed Risks

Equity Volatility

The portfolio is predominantly exposed to global equity markets, making it vulnerable to valuation corrections, earnings disappointments and changes in interest-rate expectations. Thematic investments in AI and semiconductors can experience sharper drawdowns than broad-market ETFs.

Core Investment Theme

Core Investment Theme

Global equity diversification through core-and-tactical allocation. The strategy combines developed-market exposure with selective investments in emerging economies and structural growth themes, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors, to access differentiated global growth opportunities.

Broader Market View

Global Equity Drivers

US corporate earnings, technology investment and AI adoption are important drivers of global equity returns. However, elevated valuations can limit upside if earnings growth fails to justify market expectations.

Emerging Markets

Markets such as China and Taiwan provide access to different economic and technology-led growth drivers. Their performance can also be affected by policy changes, geopolitical tensions, trade restrictions and fluctuations in investor sentiment.

Diversification Opportunity

Global allocation can reduce reliance on Indian market performance by introducing exposure to overseas economies and sectors. Diversification benefits are not guaranteed, particularly when global markets experience simultaneous sell-offs.

Investment Style & Process

Core Allocation

A strategic allocation of approximately 50–70% to developed markets, including broad US equity exposure through index-based ETFs, forms the portfolio's proposed foundation.

Tactical Allocation

Approximately 30–50% is proposed for selected emerging markets and investment themes. Individual thematic allocations may be smaller, allowing the portfolio to pursue opportunities without making every position a core holding.

CW Expert Take
CW Expert Take

Mirae Asset Global Allocation Fund provides a structured approach to international equity investing through broad-market ETFs and selective thematic exposure. Its developed-market core offers participation in established global businesses, while tactical allocations introduce growth opportunities across emerging markets and technology-driven sectors. The fund can complement a domestic equity portfolio, although equity-market volatility, geographic and thematic concentration, currency fluctuations and the close-ended structure warrant careful suitability assessment. Back-tested returns should be viewed as illustrative rather than indicative of future performance.
