What is Statement of Account (SOA) & How to generate Statement of Accounts in Mutual Fund? How to send Statement of Accounts to clients?

Problem Statement : What are the Statement of Accounts in Mutual Fund? How  to generate Statement of Account i.e SOA? How to send  Statement of Accounts to clients? 

What are the Statement of Accounts? 

A statement of account is the summary statement issued by the mutual fund house with respect to Investor's investments with them. Mutual Funds provide the statements after the allotment of funds to the investor who has transacted with the them, as an investment transaction or a redemption transaction.

A mutual fund account statement typically contains the Folio Number, AMC and Scheme Name, Scheme option, Investor Details, PAN & KYC Details, Bank Details, Transaction details, Date of transaction, nominee details etc.

In this article, we look at how to generate Statement of Account i.e SOA for an investor. We can generate Statement of Accounts from Two platforms viz, Investwell and Cams.

How  to generate Statement of Account i.e SOA through Investwell platform? 

For those Asset Management Companies which are serviced by Karvy RTA can generate the SOA from Investwell. (List of MF under Karvy)

Step 1 : Go to Investwell App.
Step 2 : Enter the Username : BakerAdmin and Password : Admin@321. (Refer Attachment 1)
Step 3 : You'll be redirected to the Dashboard page of IW, Click on Clients Tab second from left hand side corner. (Refer Attachment 2)
Step 4 : Select the Client for whom SOA needs to be generated and Click on My Folios option on clients dashboard. (Refer Attachment 3)
Step 5 : Click on the button on left hand side below SOA heading for the folio you need to generate the SOA. (Refer the List of Mutual Funds under Karvy attached above) (Refer attachment 4)
Step 6 : Click on Request SOA. (Refer Attachment 5)
Step 7 : SOA will be gets saved on Investwell Platform. Go to the Dashboard >> Data Management >> SOA Download(Refer Attachment 6)
Step 8 :Click on the Download arrow before the respective Investor's and Scheme name and it will get downloaded on your desktop. 

How  to generate Statement of Account i.e SOA through Cams Edge 360 platform? 


For those AMCs which are services by Cams RTA can generate the SOA from Cams. (List of MF under Cams)

Step 1 : Go to Cams.
Step 2 : Enter the Username : ARN-172841 and Password : Password enter the Captcha and Click on Next. (Refer Attachment 7)
Step 3 : You need to answer some security questions like below and after that click on Dashboard. (Refer Attachment 8)
  1. Who is your landline service provider - Airtel
  2. what is your favourite book - Finance
  3. In which month do you get married - September
  4. Which is your favourite comic book or cartoon character - Tom
  5. What is the name of the road you grew up on - Prabhat road
Step 4 : After that you'll be redirected to the page where you need to Click on Investor Portfolio from the Tabs on Top row and Select as active investors from left hand option above the page respective Investor and Click on SOA on the investor's name. (Refer Attachment 9)
Step 5 : Select Single Folio Account Statement >> Download Now >> Select AMC >> Select Folio >> Select Period and Click on Download. (Refer Attachment 10)
Step 6 : After that SOA will be downloaded on your Desktop.

How to send  Statement of Accounts to clients? 

After generating the SOA you need to upload those on respective Client Profile from CRM >> Transaction, after that send the SOA to that respective Client and tick the SOA sent. (Refer Attachment 11)

For sending the SOA to client please refer the template " Statement of Account " from CRM-Transaction. (Refer Attachment 12)
(CRM>>Select the respective Client>>Click on send mail>>Click on Choose Template and select template " Statement of Account ">>Upload the SOA><Click on send.)

Note : If sometimes the above methods didn't work due to some technical glitch then we need to contact the concerned AMC and request them to share the SOA via email. Mail should be sent for the investments which are under our code. 

For sending the mail to AMC for request of SOAs please refer the template "Request for Statement of Account" from CRM transaction refer the template "Request for Statement of Account" from CRM transaction. (Refer Attachment 13)
(CRM>>Select the Dummy Test Client>>Click on send mail>>Click on Choose Template and select template  "Request for Statement of Account" >>Enter the details as per your requirement>> enter the AMC person mail id froList of mail id's of AMC >> Click on send.)


Checklist : Check the below listed things before processing :
  1. Check that appropriate period should be selected or not before generating the SOA.
  2. Check the List of Mutual Fund under Karvy and CAMs before generating the SOA. 
  3. Check the Folio Number and Scheme Details before generating and sending to the Client.
  4. Do not forget to attach SOA and tick the SOA sent from CRM-Transaction after sending to the Client.
  5. Check the folio no before sending the SOA to the Client.
  6. We cannot send an email to AMC House for the requesting SOAs of Mutual Funds which are not registered under our ARN or Broker code 




Communication Template :
  1. Refer the template " Statement of Account " from CRM-Transaction >>Select the respective Client>>Click on send mail>>Click on Choose Template and select template " Statement of Account ">>Upload the SOA>>Click on send. (Refer Attachment 12)
  2. Refer the template "Request for Statement of Account" from CRM transaction>>Select the Dummy Test Client>>Click on send mail>>Click on Choose Template and select template  "Request for Statement of Account" >>Enter the details as per your requirement>> enter the AMC person mail id froList of mail id's of AMC >> Click on send.  (Refer Attachment 13)


Where can I view my Capital gains statement?

The CW Capital Gains report will give you a quick insight on your capital gain history across the portfolio. You can simply use this statement to file your returns or forward this your CA or our in-house tax partner team to help you with your income tax returns. Here's how you can generate the Capital gain statement for the latest financial year on the Cambridge Wealth app.

- Log in to the Cambridge Wealth app via your registered Mobile No/Email ID.
- Click on 'My Investment'
- Download the 'Capital Gains statement'

f you're a family head, i.e., you manage investments on behalf of your family / other investors, you can also view the capital gains summary on a consolidated level (i.e., for the entire family segregated by family member) or you can also view the capital gains summary on an individual family member level (i.e., select the family member and view the transactions for this member accordingly)

Do I need to activate Netbanking for my Primary / secondary bank account?

No, It is not mandatory to activate net banking for your registered bank accounts. But having net banking service will ease your daily banking activities such as RTGS and SIP installments etc. Payment methods such as UPI, RTGS, NEFT also available depending on the investment product that you're investing in.

What are the different modes of Payment that I can Invest through?

There are a range of payment Modes that are available through which you can Invest. These include:
1. Net banking 2. RTGS/NEFT 3. UPI (E-wallets like Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, etc) 4. Via Cheque 5. Debit/Credit Card.

Please Note that the mode of payment available may differ for some Investment Products.

How can I Invest via Netbanking (RTGS/ NEFT) and what is the minimum or maximum amount that I can invest through this mode?

When investing via Netbanking, you will be redirected to the Payment Gateway for a product respectively.
For Eg : if you would like to invest in Mutual Funds, then you will be redirected to BSE Payment Gateway page where you can select RTGS/NEFT as the mode of payment and continue accordingly. The same process is applicable for all other products where RTGS/NEFT is available.

The minimum and maximum limits generally depend on your bank. Usually, the minimum amount can be as low as Rs 5000 and a maximum of Rs 10,00,000 per day. Kindly contact your bank or login to your respective bank's app to check and modify these limits as per your preference.

For Eg : if you would like to invest in Mutual Funds, then you will be redirected to BSE Payment Gateway page where you can select UPI as the mode of payment and continue accordingly. The same process is applicable for all other products where UPI is available.

The minimum and maximum limits generally depend on your bank / UPI app. Usually, the minimum amount can be as low as Rs 2000 and a maximum of Rs 1,00,000 per day. Kindly contact your UPI app or login to your respective bank's app to check and modify these limits as per your preference.

How can I Invest via Cheque?

Different Products vary in their modes of accepting payments. We would ideally recommend keeping online payments such as Netbanking, UPI etc as the preferred mode of payment and opt for payment via cheque only as a last resort. You can simply courier the cheque to our office address as given below. For additional details, please 'Raise a Request' as given below to help us provide you with the exact cheque details depending on the product you opt to invest in.

I was not able to complete my transaction but my amount has been debited. What should I do?

Firstly, please do not worry. We're here to help you in any and every way we can!

If any money has been debited from your account for an incomplete transaction, the same will be credited to your account within 4-5 business days. If you still haven't received your amount ,you can simply 'Raise a ticket' below and describe your issue in detail. You can also attach Screenshots of the payment or acknowledgements of the transaction which contains a transaction ID, which would be helpful in tracking the funds and help credit the funds at the earliest.

My Payment is not going through. What seems to be the issue?

We're sorry to hear that. There can be several issues like paying through an Unregistered bank account, paying an amount that exceeds/ is below your daily permitted limits, etc. We suggest refreshing the page and placing a fresh order in such an instance or try making the payment again within an hour. How many Bank accounts can I add/register?

You can add up to a maximum of 5 bank accounts as per SEBI norms. To add an account, simply click on 'Raise a Request' as given below, follow the instructions and attach a copy of the cancelled cheque of the bank accounts that you'd like to add. Our support team will then help you add and edit the primary bank as per your request! Kindly ensure that the cancelled cheque consists of the name of the investor for whom the investment is being made. Additionally please ensure all documents being uploaded are clearly visible/ not blurred.

Don't have a cancelled cheque or name missing on Cancelled cheque?
No problem, simply attach the latest bank statement for the last 6 months for the new bank account that you'd like to update. This statement will then be used as a proof of acknowledgement to help update your bank details.

How to change the primary bank (default) account for new Investments?

To change your primary bank account for new investments hereon, you will first need to add the respective bank account. To add and edit your primary account, simply click on the 'Raise a Request' button as given below, follow the instructions and attach a copy of the cancelled cheque of the bank account that you'd like to add. Our support team will then help you add and edit the primary bank as per your request! Kindly ensure that the cancelled cheque consists of the name of the investor for whom the investment is being made. Additionally please ensure all documents being uploaded are clearly visible/ not blurred.
